Snorkel Between Two Continents at Silfra
Travel from Reykjavík to Þingvellir National Park for a professionally guided snorkeling experience in Silfra Fissure. The tour combines scenic transportation, full equipment preparation, approximately 2–4°C glacial water and exceptionally clear underwater views.
1. Reykjavík Pickup
Begin with pickup in Reykjavík and travel approximately 50 minutes to Þingvellir National Park. Enjoy views of Iceland’s volcanic countryside as you approach the Silfra Fissure.
2. Arrival and Safety Briefing
Meet your certified snorkeling guide and receive clear instructions about the equipment, water conditions and snorkeling route. Your guide will help you prepare in a thermal undersuit and drysuit.
3. Short Walk to Silfra
Once fully equipped, walk with your guide to the Silfra entrance. Follow all instructions carefully while entering the water and becoming comfortable with the drysuit and snorkeling equipment.
4. Silfra Snorkeling Experience
Float through Silfra’s clear glacial water between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates. See blue underwater formations, deep fissure walls and volcanic rock with visibility that may extend beyond 100 metres.
5. Hot Chocolate and Photos
After leaving the water, change out of the snorkeling equipment and warm up with hot chocolate and Icelandic chocolate. Your guide will provide the GoPro photographs taken during the experience.
6. Return to Reykjavík
Relax during the return transfer to Reykjavík after completing your Silfra adventure. The complete tour lasts approximately six hours, including transportation, preparation and snorkeling.
