Our first stop brings us to Borgarfjörður, a charming town known for the Deildartunguhver hot spring, which sprays groundwater with impressive force. Then, we’ll visit the captivating Hraunfossar and Barnafoss waterfalls, each with its own intriguing story behind its name. Both waterfalls are a sight to behold, adding a touch of whimsy to our journey. And as night falls, we’ll keep our eyes peeled for the ethereal Northern Lights dancing across the dark sky.
On the second day, we’ll delve deeper into the wonders of West Iceland, exploring the radiant Snaefellsnes Peninsula. Our adventure begins at Djúpalónssandur beach, once a bustling fishing village and now known for its striking black sand and scattered ruins from the mid-20th century. Keep an eye out for the antique British trawler Epine resting on the shore, as well as the colossal lifting stones once used to test the strength of brave locals. After a full day of exploration, we’ll return to Reykjavik for a well-deserved rest.
SOUTH COAST OF ICELAND
On the third day of our journey, we’ll start by visiting the awe-inspiring Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss waterfalls. Prepare for an up-close exploration of these natural wonders, offering incredible photo opportunities from unique angles. Be sure to dress in waterproof clothing to fully enjoy this experience.
Next on our itinerary is Reynisfjara, a globally renowned black sand beach adorned with striking basalt column formations just off the coastline. Here, you’ll also catch sight of the Reynisdrangar peaks, steeped in legend as petrified trolls from ancient tales. As the day draws to a close, we’ll embark on a thrilling Northern Lights chase, hoping to witness this celestial spectacle dancing across the night sky.
EAST COAST OF ICELAND
Get ready for an exhilarating start to our fourth and final day as we embark on an unforgettable hike in the Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon. Be sure to have your camera ready, as there will be plenty of opportunities to capture the beauty of this otherworldly setting.
DAY 1 – West Iceland
Get ready for an exciting tour that promises to leave you feeling inspired long after your time in Iceland. Our journey begins with a pickup at 9 am from the Reykjavík meeting point you’ve selected. Please note that while pickup can take up to 30 minutes, it’s important to be ready and waiting at 9 am sharp.
Our first destination is Borgarfjörður, home to Europe’s largest hot spring, Deildartunguhver. You’ll also have the option to visit the Krauma geothermal baths, or alternatively, we can visit a nearby horse farm where you can interact with Icelandic horses.
