DAY 1 – The Famous Golden Circle
Our adventure begins with the renowned Golden Circle attractions: Thingvellir National Park, Gullfoss, and Geysir.
Thingvellir National Park holds deep historical significance as the birthplace of the Icelandic nation, where the first parliament convened in 930 CE. This geological marvel sits between the diverging North American and Eurasian tectonic plates, offering a fascinating glimpse into Iceland’s natural history.
Next, we’ll visit Gullfoss, often referred to as the Golden Falls, a majestic waterfall that stands as one of Iceland’s most iconic and frequently visited attractions. Watching the Hvita river cascade down its two stages is a truly awe-inspiring sight.
Our journey continues to Geysir, home to Iceland’s most active hot spring, Strokkur. This “little brother” of Geysir delights visitors with its regular eruptions of boiling water, occurring every 5 to 10 minutes.
After a day filled with exploration and excitement, we’ll retire for the night near the charming town of Kirkjubæjarklaustur.

DAY 2 – Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, Skaftafell Nature Reserve
In the morning, we’ll set off for the mesmerizing Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon and the adjacent Diamond Beach. This enchanting lagoon is adorned with icebergs of all shapes and sizes, gracefully drifting towards the Atlantic Ocean. Some of these icebergs find their way to Diamond Beach, where they glisten like crystals against the dark sands.
Following our time at Jökulsárlón, we’ll make our way to the nearby Skaftafell Nature Reserve. Here, we’ll begin our visit at the information center, where we’ll watch a brief film introducing us to the wonders of the National Park and its glaciers. Then, we’ll embark on a hike to Svartifoss waterfall, renowned as one of Iceland’s most unique waterfalls and a beloved attraction within the park.

DAY 3 – South Coast Sightseeing and Katla Ice Cave
After a delightful breakfast, we’ll begin our journey along the enchanting South Coast of Iceland. Weather permitting, we’ll start our day with a scenic detour to Fjaðrárgljúfur Canyon, a picturesque natural wonder.
Next, we’ll venture to the iconic Eldhraun lava field, a testament to the earth’s raw power during a volcanic eruption.
Our adventure continues with a visit to Katla Ice Cave, the only ice cave accessible year-round. Whether you’re visiting in summer or winter, you’ll have the opportunity to experience the breathtaking beauty of an authentic ice cave. Remember to bundle up warmly, as temperatures inside the cave are below freezing.
Then, we’ll make our way to Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach, where you can witness the mighty waves of the Atlantic Ocean in all their splendor. Exercise caution, as the waves here can be unpredictable.
After exploring Reynisfjara, we’ll marvel at the impressive Skógafoss waterfall, cascading majestically from a height of 60 meters. For the adventurous souls among us, there’s the option to climb the 527 steps for a breathtaking panoramic view from the top.
As the day draws to a close, we’ll arrive at Hotel Hella for a well-deserved night’s rest after a day filled with exploration along the South Coast.

DAY 4 – Landmannalaugar Hike
After a satisfying breakfast to kickstart our day, we’ll set off towards Landmannalaugar for an unforgettable hiking adventure. The trail we’ll be tackling spans approximately 8-10 kilometers, taking us around 4 hours to complete. Along the way, we’ll traverse the Laugahraun lava field, wander through the stunning Vondugil Canyon, and ascend to the summit of Mt. Brennisteinsalda, known for its vibrant hues that define the landscape. As we make our way back, we’ll pass through the picturesque Graenagil Gorge, aptly named for its lush greenery. If time permits, we may even venture to climb the Blahnukur Volcano before indulging in a well-deserved soak in the rejuvenating hot springs of Landmannalaugar, surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty.
