Day 1 - The Golden Circle
We will begin our tour at 8 am in Reykjavík. Once everyone gets on the minibus, you will start our adventure to the stunning South Coast of Iceland.
Geysir Geothermal Area
The Geysir hot springs have lots of pretty colors. There’s a geyser called Strokkur that shoots up hot water every 5 minutes, reaching heights of up to 35 meters. It was named after a hot spring called “Geysir” that used to erupt and gave all the geysers in the world their name.
Look at the magnificent beauty of the “Golden Falls”! The falling waters, born from the melting ice of Iceland’s second-largest glacier, Langjokull, sink into a deep canyon, creating a breathtaking sight to see. See the majestic Langjökull glacier, visible in the distance on a day kissed by the sun. And if you’re fortunate, you may also witness a vibrant rainbow gracing the waterfall, a picture-perfect moment just waiting to be captured.
Thingvellir National Park
We take on a journey to experience the breathtaking phenomenon where the mighty North American and Eurasian tectonic plates split. Unusual are places on Earth that provide a more splendid and unobstructed vista of this colossal geological phenomenon. Set within the stunning Thingvellir National Park lies Iceland’s grandest natural lake, claiming a diverse array of aquatic creatures and feathered friends. Thingvellir holds an important place in the rich tapestries of Icelandic national history. In the year 930 AD, the wise and adventurous Icelanders established their parliament on this very land. It was a place where chiefs met every summer to discuss important matters and make decisions for their people. The name “Thingvellir” can be understood as “Fields of Parliament,” triggering a sense of splendor and historical significance.
Day 2 - The South Coast of Iceland
In the morning, after breakfast, we will continue our adventure through majestic waterfalls and glaciers. Today, we will be hiking on a glacier!
As you step foot in the area, get ready to be mesmerized by the awe-inspiring spectacle of Seljalandsfoss. Don’t forget to grab your reliable raincoat before going on a thrilling adventure behind the gushing waterfall. Look! The majestic sight of falling water, resulting in the earth-shaking below your feet. Such a breathtaking scene is a photographer’s dream come true, with the potential to capture an instant masterpiece.
After that, we will take you toward one of the largest glaciers in Iceland. Currently, around 9% of Iceland is covered in ice. Once we get there, you will put on some gear like crampons, helmets, and ice axes and start walking toward the glacier.
When you are on the glacier, you will get a chance to explore the awesome ice formations like cracks and vertical shafts.
Glacier Hike In Skaftafell Or Solheimajökull
Once we get there, you will have to put on some gear like crampons, helmets, and ice axes and start walking toward the glacier. Then, you will head toward one of the largest glaciers in Iceland. Currently, around 9% of Iceland is covered in ice.
When on the glacier, you will be looking at the neat ice shapes like cracks and holes.
Day 3 - Glacier Lagoon & The Black Sand Beach
On the final day of our trip, we will wake up refreshed and head out to check out some more of Iceland’s most enchanting spots. Today, we’re gonna hop on a boat and check out some icebergs, visit the well-known Diamond Beach, and make a few other stops along the way.
Jökulsárlón: The Glacier Lagoon
Jokulsarlon is a big lake that gets its water from a melting glacier called Breioamerkurjokull. This ice formation is a piece of the largest glacier in Europe, called Vatnajokull. Huge pieces of ice fall from Breiðamerkurjökull into the lagoon all year round. This makes the lagoon full of ice blocks that float toward the South.
Boat Tour In Jökulsárlón
Afterward, we will take you on an unforgettable Boat Ride Tour at Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, where you will get a chance to get closer to the floating icebergs!
On the other side of the road, the icebergs from Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon float into the Atlantic Ocean, where they are quickly thrown back to shore by the tide and winds. This black sand beach is full of smaller ice blocks in all shapes and sizes, sparkling like diamonds in the daylight. The ice itself comes in all shades of white and blue forming beautiful contrasts.
REYNISFJARA: THE BLACK SAND BEACH
We visit the Black Sand Beach of Reynisfjara, where the Atlantic coastline presents massive waves hitting the unique basalt pillars in the cliffs above the sand. The cliffs of Dýrhólaey are seen in the distance. This area of the south is also a paradise for bird lovers, as puffins, razorbills, and dozens of other species nest on top of these cliffs in the summertime.
BACK TO REYKJAVÍK
We will then start heading back to Reykjavik and are expected to arrive around 8 pm, though this may be subject to change depending on weather and road conditions.
